There’s a nice “little story in the Oakland Tribune today”:http://www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_4629106 about Cal basketball forward DeVon Hardin.

Apparently, Hardin is on every NBA scout’s “Who to watch for” list.

We’re sure this should excite the Bears’ faithful. If Hardin has a good enough year to be projected to be a first-round draft pick, then we’ll say that Cal goes Dancin’ once again.

Just look at him:

Hardin is already a better defensive player than Powe will ever be. Hardin’s more physically imposing defensively, not to mention he has the ability to swat the ball into the 10th row at Haas. Those long arms of his aren’t just intimidating, they’re weapons.

All Hardin has to do is work on his offensive game. He has to be able to knock down that mid-range jumper consistently and he has to develop a game on the low block.

If he does all of this, he’ll fill that void left by Powe and be every NBA scout’s first love in next year’s draft.

Who wouldn’t want a “chiseled 6-foot-11 body” on their NBA team anyway?

Do you want Hardin’s “chiseled” body on your NBA team? Comment at “clog@dailycal.org”:mailto:clog@dailycal.org. It’s okay, we know you want to.
