Two days left. That’s how much time that separates us from the huge showdown between Cal and ‘SC in the Coliseum. You can read our previous preview posts “here”:http://clog.dailycal.org/sports/battle-for-the-roses-preview-scs-offense-v-cals-defense and “here”:http://clog.dailycal.org/sports/battle-for-the-roses-preview-special-teams. You can also hit up the “Daily Cal’s breakdown”:http://www.dailycal.org/sharticle.php?id=22299.

Let’s look at the Bears offense against Pete Carroll’s defense today.

Carroll is known as a defensive guru. His Trojans have the best defense, in terms of total yards allowed, in the conference. They have the second-best rush defense and the best pass defense. USuC clearly has the advantage when comparing both defenses.

But Cal has no rival on the offensive side of the football. Marshawn Lynch is first in the Pac-10 in all-purpose yards. Nate Longshore has the best passing efficiency.

Like ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit once said, “Cal’s a machine.” And no one’s going to stop them. Not even Carroll’s defense. (Yes, we know ‘Zona stopped them last week, but that was an anomaly, guranteed.)

Just look at how crazy Lynch is. If that visor doesn’t give you chills, then you’re not human either.

*Advantage: Cal.*
