It’s finally here. It’s make or break time for the Bears. It’s simple for Cal: win and go to the Rose Bowl for the first time in 48 years; lose and languish in San Diego for the second time in three years.
We think that the Bears are going to need a nice little pregame speech, the likes of this one back from 2003, to get them fired up. (Okay, maybe they don’t need that kind of speech to get them hyped, but this speech fires us up.)
We’ve gone through the “special teams”:http://clog.dailycal.org/sports/battle-for-the-roses-preview-special-teams, how “‘SC’s offense”:http://clog.dailycal.org/sports/battle-for-the-roses-preview-scs-offense-v-cals-defense will handle Cal’s defense and how “the Bears’ explosive offense”:http://clog.dailycal.org/sports/battle-for-the-roses-preview-cals-offense-v-scs-defense will try to break through the Trojans defense. Hell, we’ve even gone through the “intangibles”:http://clog.dailycal.org/sports/battle-for-the-roses-preview-intangibles.
Sure USuC hasn’t lost a game in the Coliseum in five years. Sure the Trojan Man has been able to defend Troy to the tune of an 18-0 record in November under the Pete Carroll.
But we, just like ESPN’s Lee Corso, thought this team could beat ‘SC since the beginning of the year and last weekend’s lost to ‘Zona ain’t gonna change that.
If this game was up at Memorial Stadium today, we assure you’d see this seen all over again!
*But even if the game is in Los Angeles, we’re still going to party like it’s 1958!!! Cal over the Trojans 31-27.*
