Unless you live deep within a crevasse, you’re probably aware that former President Jimmy Carter gave a little talk on campus yesterday and all sorts of crazy shenanigans went down outside.

No surprises there, except for a little shocker courtesy of the Daily Cal story—Jimmy’s revelation about the blue and gold tie he sported in his Zellerbach talk.

“This is a confession. I came here with a red tie on,” Carter said as he finished his hour-and-a-half-long talk.

Damn, we can’t help but think of his 1976 Playboy Magazine interview in which he said, “I’ve looked on a lot of women with lust. I’ve committed adultery in my heart many times.”

It just goes to show that confessions get all the racier when you’re older. In fact, we’d suggest Usher collaborate with Carter for Confessions Part IV in light of the whole tie thing.

Otherwise, Carter discussed his book “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.” We’ll leave that to the paper proper to give you the scoop on that one.

Speaking of the book, droves of people clogged Eshleman Hall for the former president’s pre-talk book-signing in Senate Chambers.

We’re pretty sure we saw Carter in the seat used by the executive vice president. Who knows, maybe the presidential vibe will spill over into the ASUC.
