Zachary RunningWolf never ceases to entertain, whether it’s about saving trees or, more recently, rallying against former opponent Mayor Tom Bates.

This time, just after other California hippie Cindy Sheehan participated in some performance art at the Berkeley Marina, Zachary RunningWolf is launching a campaign that ought to really help his self-proclaimed upcoming mayoral campaign: seeking to recall Tom Bates, to whom RunningWolf lost (badly) in the last election, from his mayoral office.

RunningWolf is upset with Bates’ not-so-recent project to do something about homelessness, a project undertaken in San Francisco to much of that city’s relief since its mayor, Gavin Newsom, took over a few years ago.

RunningWolf claims that Bates’ plan to crack down on homelessness, which includes (redundant) laws restricting public drug use, urination, loitering, shopping cart-possession and shouting, constitutes a conservative “siege” of the city.

Right. Because we all know that trying to keep the streets free of feces and “spare change?” signs is just an evil right-wing conspiracy. Next thing we know, Dictator Bates will be leading the coalition criminalizing trespassing on university property. Oh, wait. Never mind that they’re on the same side of the Nuclear-Free-Vegan-Save-The-Trees Zone fence.

All publicity is supposed to be good publicity, but really, is being known as the guy who complains about everything and burns his bridges going to get you very far?

We guess you didn’t read about our growing apathy.
