Brazil Cafe

If anyone is under the impression that Brazilian food is made up wholly by the combinatorics of different meats and salts, they might want to reconsider. By the nature of its location, it wouldn’t take much to imagine the Brazil Cafe to be in a favela–a view of the street, a constant flow of Brazilian music and cars whizzing by nonstop.

But if you’re not looking for a simulation of a Brazilian neighborhood, perhaps you will be enticed by the food. Of particular palatal interest is the cilantro sauce–what the Brazil Cafe is known for–that can be sampled before you’ve placed an order. When mixed with their tri-tip and rice, the combination makes an excellent afternoon distraction.

While the location is a bit far for the average student’s lunch break, a solution is possibly in order–the Daily Cal reported last month that a new location in Lower Sproul Plaza is in order for the near future.

Location: 2161 University Avenue
Price: Around $5-$10
Notes: Perfect for lunch.
