In planning any late summer travels, put aside tired goals of beautiful sights, potential exotic hook-ups and record-breaking, spicy local eats. The Berkeley-based Ethical Traveler encourages, instead, to visit one of the most ethical destinations of the world in order to support the country’s noble work.
Their list of 10 best is based on “environmental protection, social welfare and human rights in the world’s developing nations.” Without much ado, here are the honorees: Argentina, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Namibia, Nicaragua and South Africa.
