So about 40 bajillion million tree-sit posts ago, we mentioned the possibility that the tree people would pay for their transgressions and it looks like something similar is about to happen.

The Chron’s Matier and Ross report the money could add up to over 10 grand per sitter, which includes the 40 grand the university spent on that elaborate gold-trimmed, pearl-encrusted scaffolding around The Last Redwood during the final moments.

Does this prove the existence of karma? No. But the community of supporters was able to come up with the money for bail after the final four came down, so it’ll work out okay this time. Right guys? Right?

The idiot lawyer, Carol Strickman, who whined about how mean UC was treating the tree-sitters, now complains that the criminals should not have to pay fines because they lost the battle?

Quote: “They took the trees down, okay. That was horrible,” Strickman said. “Now to add insult to injury, we’re being punished for what we tried to do.”

How did this clueless woman ever get a law degree? Her logic is that only criminals that succeed in their crimes have to pay a penalty. So in her mind anyone who attempts murder gets off free. Anyone who tries to rape a woman, but fails because the woman fights back gets off free.

Idiot.

makes sense. especially being that in the end it really didn’t come down to the grove itself, but staying in the trees as long as they could. ‘actions speak louder than words’ blah blah.

instead of coming down beforehand, they forced the scaffolding situation to arise, so they should pay for it as well.
