Sorry, we couldn’t resist making that reference, even if it’s totally unwarranted in this context. It was a tossup between that and “no school for you!” Consider yourselves lucky.

Sitting on the steps of Sproul earlier today, we tried to pull the “pretending I’m texting” move when we saw the looming figure of a flyerer. Unable to fend off the paper-propagating pest, we begrudgingly accepted their tree waste and saw the words, “Seinfeld Campus Tour” atop it. Then we saw the words “Seinfeld food” on the back and we knew we had to check it out.

Apparently the Seinfeld Bus is driving from Florida to California, making pit stops at college campuses and retail outlets across America, in hopes of inspiring a new generation of fans of the popular 90’s sitcom. The 60 foot-long bus was transformed in the likeness of Kramer’s non-fat yogurt bar, offering us our first dose of “Seinfeld food” (they assured us it really was fat free, unlike when it appeared in the series) as well as Seinfeld interactive trivia games and tons of free Seinfeld memorabilia. We especially enjoyed the chap stick with George’s head on it and the mints with one of our favorite quotes from the series:

Elaine: “So what you’re saying is, 95% of the population is un-datable?
Jerry: “UNDATABLE!”
Elaine: “Then how do you explain all those people getting together?”
Jerry: “Alcohol.”

The rest of the bus was a mini-museum of treasures from the series, including the infamous “puffy shirt,” Kramer’s “bro” (the male equivalent of the bra), Jerry’s famous leather jacket lined with pink and white striped fabric, and other relics. There was an endless supply of thematic edibles, including mini boxes of cereal, Twix bars, Junior Mints, black and white cookies, and Snicker’s Bars (but no forks and knives to eat them with). Their attempt to drug us with sugar was almost enough to make us want to start watching the series again, almost.
