Last night’s carousing flooded today’s Youtube channels with blurry, pixelated videos of student mobs engaged in acts of flag-waving, slogan-chanting, generally euphoric tomfoolery. People popped bottles of bubbly! Hung from rafters! Scrambled atop AC Transit buses and rode down the streets, beaming and waving to their friends! A little bird tells us that the pervasive mood of ecstatic joy also induced many students to rip off their clothes. We approve. Naturally, it was all on YouTube by the next day.

A few more videos follow after the jump. For good measure, and all that.

Slightly spooky silent footage shot from the air by CNN:

And a rousing rendition of the national anthem:

Like a span of mules, Democrats gathered on the lawn at Grant Park in Chicago last night to hear once again “a Speech,” yes an acceptance speech from elected Commander in Chief Obama. Like an ostentation of peacocks, this watch of nightingales stood looking to the stage for the declared winner of the 2008 Presidential horse team race. What a spectacle; what a finish.

Famous faces were picked out of the bed of oysters and clams spreading out at the foot of the lectern. Tears glistened on cheeks of the company’s parrots. Supporters of Obama who had vaulted him above the rafter of turkeys in Washington, DC. were weeping tears of joy.

Around 11 PM, the now familiar voice of the tall President Elect rang out to the troops, herds and gangs set like siege of cranes before him and his leash of foxes, the Obamas in sartorial splendor. Tidings of magpies aped rhetoric that won the day for Democratic Political Party — too long denied election to the top position.

How brilliant the doctrines of yesteryear had been resurrected by Obama Camp to ring truthfully in the ears of old and young patriots and ex-patriots alike. It alludes to past clowders of political cats fighting it out, only to end in a riot or worse civil war like a murder of crows.

No riots, not last night — most of us looked down on that peaceful sea of humanity in Grant Park as the next yoke of oxen to fall into indentured slavery… hey now — it is the American Way. pd
