Those of you who out there who were lucky enough to a) be asleep or b) not live on Southside last night sometime in the wee hours of the morning may not have noticed that there was a power outage late last night on Southside. But there was. The outage was reportedly caused by the explosion of a fat electrical line which senior Michelle Morris described thusly:

“I heard a boom from underground and then it happened again, and that’s when I saw the manhole kind of rise up … “

She also reported seeing “an orange light under the manhole cover.” Power was eventually restored at around 3:30 a.m. For a rough approximation of how we  imagine things went down, please see the preceding video.
