beerThe Clog has always unconditionally supportedĀ  the convergence of intellectual pursuit and things that make you drunk. Finally, (recognized) UC Berkeley departments are catching on [1]! On Oct. 10, Octoberfest hits campus at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology’s third annual exploration of the anthropology of food. Fermented grain will be available for exploration.

99 Bottles of Beer: Global Brewing Traditions 2500 B.C – Present [2]” will include the following:

- A workshop on “how packaging affects beer flavor” in Kroeber Hall, 12:45 p.m.

- A symposium on beer and brewing moderated by brew gurus including Fritz Maytag, President of Anchor Brewing Co. at the Pacific Film Archive, 3 p.m.

- A curator-led tour of the “99 Bottles of Beer” exhibition, 5:15 p.m.

- Beer.

You’ll have to cough up 20 bucks for the symposium, beer fair and workshop ($30 for non-students) or $15 for the symposium or workshop/beer fair only ($20 non-students), so get your money’s worth.
