Well this guy’s lecture worked out real well, timing-wise. Mark Tribe (killer name, Mark Tribe) is an artist and professor at Brown University. He’ll be talking about participatory media in protests (i.e taking video and putting clips on YouTube, on the quick) and how it has changed the public sphere.

He’ll show some of his recent work, including a video archive of police surveillance of activists, a video installation that reimagines a reenactment of Jimi Hendrix’s rendition of the national anthem at Woodstock, and reenactments of Vietnam-era protest speeches. A nice cap put on the week’s events.

Monday, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., 160 Kroeber. FREE.
