‘Sup, Science Virtuosos

phospho

Nothing wrong with that by the way, science buffs are people too. It’s true. Anyway if y’all are sick of pouring over the phospholipid handbook or executing smooth manifolds then we’ve got something for you this weekend.

Wonderfest [1], the Bay Area Festival of Science, is happening on Nov. 6 and 7. The fest will be at Stanford on Saturday (lamesauce) and Berkeley on Sunday (hip, hip, hooray!). They are having discussions with engrossing, forget-the-rest-of-the-world topics like “Does 10,000 hours of video gaming have side effects?” Uhhhh 10,000 hours. We’d say yes. The #1 side effect being the lack of a life … unless the videogame is Mario obviously. (Mario Kart does not count people!) Comedians will also be present but considering it is a science fair we wouldn’t hold our breath.

Anyway, maybe their mission statement is more inspiring than ours:

Through public discourse about provocative scientific questions, Wonderfest aspires to stimulate curiosity, promote careful reasoning, challenge unexamined beliefs, and encourage life-long learning.
