Surprise! We’ve been secretly blogging about you for the past four weeks. Don’t worry, though, nobody has been secretly reading us. Well, almost nobody. One of you trolled upon us.

Today marks the official debut of The Daily Clog, a tragic name for self-important, postmodern -yellow- journalism in proximity to UC Berkeley.

For those new to the blogosphere, we cover what’s already been covered or what wasn’t worth covering the first time around. We aren’t original, particularly witty, or even slightly useful. We just are. Like dust, but jaded and oddly magnetic.

For those experienced bloggers, you no doubt will notice that commenting is not available. The powers that be decided the combination of your filthy mouths and our slanted POV would end in a lawsuit faster than an ASUC election.

With that said, we encourage you to spam us more than Jason Overman in an election year at “clog@dailycal.org”:mailto:clog@dailycal.org with your words of support, passionate indifference, and flaming e-mails. Tips are also welcome at “clogtips@dailycal.org”:mailto:clog@dailycal.org. We accept Pay Pal and all major credit cards, cash if you see us in person.

And finally, I want to thank the following for making the Daily Clog happen: Managing Editor Oscar Shine for his impeccable style and penchant for distress; Soo Oh for abandoning her baby to run off to France; Jeff Bowman for putting the first coat of lipstick on this pig; and the contributors Angie Baecker for foregoing her lifelong publishing career before it began; Gerald Nicdao for quietly judging me and simultaneously letting me know he’s my bitch; and Lucas Westmaas for bringing sexy back via beards.
