When you think of a typical Valentine’s Day, a few things come to mind: hearts, chocolates, cute, pint-sized animals and … video conferencing?
This Thursday at the Cafe Muse, the Berkeley Center for New Media and the Berkeley Art Museum invite you to share a romantic lunch with a loved one via a video conference-enabled laptop. For a paltry price of $16, food (Chinese chicken salad!) and drink (soda and juice!) is provided. The video date requires a laptop, a webcam, video-conferencing software, and (oh, right) a warm, breathing human date. With all the gizmo gadgetry involved, we almost forgot about that last one.
