Come 5 p.m., you’ll find a group of serious, strong men and women rallying on Upper Sproul against sexual and domestic violence, rape, and hate crimes. The Take Back the Night rally will feature art, poetry and music until 8 p.m.

TBTN is a part of a larger week (or weeks, depending on how you look at it). In addition to Safety Awareness Week, the event is also listed under Queer Awareness Days … so be queer and safe and stand up against violence.

Other notable to-do’s:

Monday, Apr. 21 – Thursday, Apr. 24
SEO‘s Eliminate Hate Campaign, Upper Sproul: Buy a pink T-shirt, hate on hate.

Tuesday, Apr. 22
CJ Pascoe – Homophobia in High School, Senate Chambers: Conversation about masculinity and homophobia.

Wednesday, Apr. 23
Double Penetration of Queer Pop Culture: The L Word and Queer As Folk, 305 Eshleman: OK, so we were just aroused by the title.

Friday, Apr. 25
SEO’s Trip to the Crib: Visit the gay frat house, then go dancing (where else?) at a gay SF club.
