Following a recent report of an abandoned vehicle on Allston Way, Rice University found out that Berkeley has something to do with the disappearance of one of their students. Junior Matthew Wilson and his 4-door Dodge Neon disappeared during finals at Rice University around Dec. 15, 2007–without a word to his roommate, friends or family. He left the last of that semester’s schoolwork behind–as well as his cell phone.

On Friday, Berkeley police found the Neon, with no signs of foul play. They do not currently know of Wilson’s possible whereabouts, though commenters at the Houston Chronicle have much to say in speculation.

So if you’ve encountered a computer science major with green eyes and red hair this past semester, you know what to do.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about the case to call their 24-hour non-emergency line at (510) 981-5900 or the department’s homicide detail at (510) 981-5741. Houston’s Crime Stoppers can be reached at (713) 222-8477.
