How To: Save the Newspaper Industry (Just Add Boobs)

Maybe it’s a form of recession escapism or just a lack of song and dance in our lives, but there seem to be an awful lot of musicals [1] springing up these days.

Just weeks after Theater for Charity tried to save Britney [2], Jonathan Mann (a Berkeley alum) of the East Bay Express has offered his two cents on how to save ill-fated newspaper industry: more racks. And no, we don’t mean to put the newspapers on.

The editor’s note [3] below the video includes some equally outlandish ways to resuscitate print media:  Twitter story tips, charging people to stop having newspapers delivered to their homes, converting old news racks into homeless storage lockers and publishing White House torture memos in the classified section.

This may be an April Fools’ joke, but considering how desperate newspapers are these days, we wouldn’t be surprised if a some of them actually picked up on a few of these ideas.
