beerThe Clog has always unconditionally supported  the convergence of intellectual pursuit and things that make you drunk. Finally, (recognized) UC Berkeley departments are catching on! On Oct. 10, Octoberfest hits campus at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology’s third annual exploration of the anthropology of food. Fermented grain will be available for exploration.

99 Bottles of Beer: Global Brewing Traditions 2500 B.C – Present” will include the following:

- A workshop on “how packaging affects beer flavor” in Kroeber Hall, 12:45 p.m.

- A symposium on beer and brewing moderated by brew gurus including Fritz Maytag, President of Anchor Brewing Co. at the Pacific Film Archive, 3 p.m.

- A curator-led tour of the “99 Bottles of Beer” exhibition, 5:15 p.m.

- Beer.

You’ll have to cough up 20 bucks for the symposium, beer fair and workshop ($30 for non-students) or $15 for the symposium or workshop/beer fair only ($20 non-students), so get your money’s worth.
