Are you busy tomorrow night? We at the Clog don’t mean to pry, but as it turns out, there is a Scandinavian movie night this Tuesday, Nov. 24. This is for all of you who wandered around, bemoaning the fact that a university as widely acclaimed as Berkeley did not have one measly screening of a Finnish sci fi movie. You’re welcome.

If that doesn’t get your northern blood racing, we’ll just give you the title of the movie: “Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning.”

Enjoy that for a moment. We’ll wait. And here’s the synopsis, to wash it all down: “It is the story of Emperor Pirk—a star fleet commander who declares himself a global overlord and decides to expand his reign beyond the farthest reaches of the universe.” It is in Finnish with English subtitles.

So are you going? The correct answer is KYLLA (yes in Finnish, duh!). It is at 7 p.m. tomorrow in B-4 Dwinelle. Go for the title alone, and get ready to enjoy the “world class visual effects,” “rough-and-ready sense of humor,” and, last but certainly not least, “the passion.”

Oh dear lord. Please tell us there will be more of these. We will bow down to any and all of our Finnish overlords.
