gnomeAfter discovering the latest omen of the world’s coming demise, the Clog encourages Berkeley students to put down their books and enjoy their short-lived time on Earth.

When we do our regular combing-through of the latest news (all for you, dear readers) it is very rare that we come across the phrase “wayward gnomes.” But today we did.

It was in a story about 10 garden gnomes, which appeared along a trail on Mount Helena. The poor gnomes are thought to have been stolen from their rightful homes. But now we get to the tragic part, dear reader. The gnomes, already undoubtedly having undergone a harrowing journey, have not yet been matched to their rightful homes.

The police have “contacted residents who have recently reported their garden decorations stolen and have not been able to find any matches so far.” How heartless would a gnome-owner be not to report their beloved garden ornament missing? Or not to retrieve it once it’s been rescued?

Oh, what a sad world we live in.
