festivalThis Saturday if you see someone doing the samba on Telegraph Avenue, they might not just be dancing to the music in their head. On June 4 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Berkeley World Music Festival will showcase music with genres that range not just from indie pop to indie rock, but which originate all across the globe.

Berkeley will be thrumming with music, with a concert at People’s Park and shows all along Telegraph, plus a World Crafts Bazaar. Booths for the bazaar will not only be at the People’s Park show, but on Telegraph near Amoeba.

At 9:30 p.m., shimmy on over to Ashkenaz for the after party ($10 for students and $13 general) to hear the West African Highlife Band.
