It’s just a jump to the left…

If you are (or were) a Berkeley student, chances are this brings back sweet CalSo memories of learning the Time Warp. You may even be so compulsed to finish the line…and then a step to the ri-i-i-ight. You know what, for classics sake, we’re just going to finish it off for you:

Time Warp

Dancing the Time Warp at CalSo is only the tail end of a long-standing Rocky Horror tradition at Cal. The tradition started with taking eager students to an actual midnight showing of the 1975 cult classic film Rocky Horror Picture Show, which sadly fizzled out. But good news, Barely Legal, the cast that put on the show, is still going strong! They strive to spread the Rocky love all throughout the Bay Area — and they’re coming locally very soon.

Guilty Viewing Pleasures: The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Tim Curry in the 1975 film

This Saturday, November 8th, the “Barely Legal” Rocky Horror Picture Show is coming to the Albany Twin Theater (in Albany), just a short BART ride away! Tickets are only $10 and the show is all ages. But don’t let that stop you from going all out on the partici……..pation. Costumes are allowed and encouraged. In fact, their only rule is that you have to wear something. The rest is up to you. And if you dress to impress in a Rocky-inspired outfit, they say they may even bring you on stage to show it off. And costumes aren’t the only means of participations. “Survival Kits” are sold before the show containing bubbles, noise makers, toilet paper, toast, cards, and an instruction sheet to get you up to speed on when to use each item. It’s sure to be a fun night for both long-time fans and first timers.

If you’re looking for a raunchy and exceptionally entertaining thing to do this weekend, dust off your fishnets and “give yourself over to absolute pleasure” at the Albany Twin.

25068037_d7ec51c04eWe’d like to take the chance to make this public service announcement you may not have been aware of: It’s almost Halloween. That’s right, time to enjoy the winding down of midterms (just kidding, they never end), get your crazy out of the closet and wear it proud. Whether that’s slutty ______ (bat? barista? box?), your inner Potter nerd, an obscure reference or simply a clever nametag, this is a time for you to let it all out.

For freshman, who may not know what to expect from a college Halloween, or upperclassmen who have always been a little confused about what to do, we’re here to help. Here are a few reminders and suggestions from the Halloween veterans at the Clog: read more »
