yummy yummy in my tummySomehow we wound up as your dedicated go-to people for all the updates on the latest Thai Temple dramz, so we’re kinda thrilled that the Zoning Adjustments Board finally decided in an 8-1 vote this past Thursday to keep the famous Wat Mongkolratanaram Sunday brunch. That, and we just really like Thai food.

In case you haven’t been keeping up, this dispute has kind of become a big deal; this isn’t your average senior magnet Sunday brunch at Coco’s. The Thai Temple brunch has been a favorite weekly pastime of students and residents alike for the past 25 years and the only place that we know of where you can get Thai food in exchange for tokens. The dispute is so big, in fact, that The Wall Street Journal even reported about it.

Apparently people in Berkeley really like their Thai eats, probably because they can consume mass quantities of delicious, greasy food while still looking cultured. Congrats all you Thai connoisseurs, no longer do you have to inconvenience yourself by going all the way to the Asian Ghetto. Looks like you can have your mango sticky rice and eat it too.
